Tyler Renstrom

Tyler Renstrom has been involved in theater for over 10 years. His first role was Junior Woodnocker in Hotel Frankenstein at the Valley Center Playhouse. He has since been involved in countless others inclucing: Cinderella, Frontier, Springtime in Manhatten, Possum City, USA, The Littlest Warrior, and one of his favorites Jake's Corner. He has also become involved in directing by helping with both Jake's Corner and The Littlest Warrior. In 2003 Tyler won best youth actor along with his cousin Nick Pino for their roles in Jake's Corner.

"I love making people smile and laugh."

said Tyler about why he enjoys theater. He also enjoys the ability to be someone else, to play a lot of different characters. Theater has influenced his life in many ways as well. Not only has it been a lot of fun but he feels it has boosted his confidence and made him more comfortable being outgoing. It has also provided opportunities to make many lifetime friendships.

"It is a postive way to occupy my time
and it encourges myself and others to succeed"

Tyler is an Oramite who attended Orem High School. He loves to sing and was able to tour much of the East Coast with his High School choir groups. On his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints he was able to use this talent as another way for him to serve others. He sings everywhere, even when he waits tables and if he can, he would love to sing for a living (and be a comedian!). Skills with singing are an excellent bonus in theater and Tyler has been able to sing in several of the plays he has participated in.

There have been many influencial people in Tyler's life and among those he admires the most are his father and grandfathers. He describes his father as being full of unconditional love and as someone who has and always will be there for him.

"My father is my best friend; we would do anything for each other."
.
Extreme patriots are how he describes his grandfathers. They are full of commitment to this county, the church, and the priesthood. He admires the wonderful example that they are to their families and is very greatful to have them in his life.

Update: Tyler won the LeRoy Wilcox Service Award for his countless contributions to the Valley Center Playhouse in 2007. He directed, acted, understudied, worked in lights & sound and on the sets. He also filled in literally at the last minute for the role of Buddy Boy in Possum City, USA and did such a great job that he won the trophy for Best Supporting Actor! ~Special Thanks~

"You have impressed us with your ability to act from the day you could talk. We have enjoyed watching you entertain us for years. From your performances of Inspector Gadget, to your soft serenades of “When the Clock Strikes half past six babe”, and “I’ll raise my hands to heaven and pray.” The best role you’ve ever played was that of our wonderful son. We love you and are so proud of you." -Mom and Dad
